Ripples Completes “Around The Island Cycle Challenge” in Support of The Cycle
Palma, Mallorca – 13 May 2026 – Ripples, the UK’s leading bathroom retailer, has successfully completed its latest charitable endeavour, the Around The Island Cycle Challenge — a four-day, 390km ride around the breathtaking island of Mallorca, raising more than £13,000 for The Cycle, a charity empowering communities through sanitation, education, and gender equity.
Starting and finishing in Palma, 14 Ripples riders conquered Mallorca’s iconic cycling terrain, including the legendary Sa Calobra climb and Puig Major, the island’s highest peak at 1,445 metres. Riders covered nearly 100km per day across mountainous terrain and coastal roads. The team brought together riders from across the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom (KBB) sector, with invaluable support from partners including Laufen, Armera, Genesis Tiles, and Eurostove.
Supporting The Cycle: Ripples has been a proud supporter of The Cycle for over 15 years through a variety of fundraising initiatives, including cycles, hikes, raffles, and showroom events. This year’s Mallorca challenge has already generated £13,150 from 305 donations, contributing to the charity’s ongoing work.
The Cycle, together with its sister organisation, Sanitation First India, works in underserved communities in Tamil Nadu, India, providing school toilets, clean water reservoirs, and menstrual health education through its award-winning Happy Periods programme. At just £25 per participant, the programme delivers both essential education and a washable, reusable hygiene pad that lasts five years, helping girls stay in school and reducing barriers caused by period poverty.
“Completing this ride was both physically demanding and deeply rewarding. I wanted to create an event people would genuinely look forward to, while also giving riders across the KBB industry the opportunity to achieve something meaningful for themselves and for the charity. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’re incredibly proud that Ripples could once again bring the challenge together. As a business, we believe in creating impact beyond our industry, supporting The Cycle allows us to help deliver practical, lasting change where it’s needed most.”
“Your support really does have a huge impact and goes towards truly life-changing work — bringing clean water to communities so women no longer have to spend more than five hours each day collecting water for their families to drink, helping to build toilets for children, and supporting our award-winning menstrual health programme. What Ripples is doing is truly heroic. A heartfelt thank you”
