Ripples announces latest fundraising challenge

A group of 40 Ripples colleagues, family and friends will climb Mount Snowdon 'Yr Wyddfa' in North Wales on 27th June 2024, in aid of sanitation charity The Cycle.

Our aim is to raise at least £20,000 to construct a toilet block for the girls at Government Higher Secondary School, P. Pudupatti, a school located in one of India's most underdeveloped districts. The school has 140 girls and 15 female teachers, all of whom must currently wade through deep slush and mud to reach their toilet (a single squat pan in a dilapidated building), exposing them to infections and disease.

Last year, with donor support, the school was able to build a boys toilet block - so of course we want one for the girls!

What is The Cycle?

The Cycle is a not-for-profit organisation that has been working with communities in need for over twenty-five years building safe, sustainable eco-toilets and clean water solutions, teaching period education and menstrual disorder programmes with the provision of sustainable period products and healing the soil to increase local food production. The majority of its work happens in Southern India & is led by its sister organisation, Sanitation First India.

What’s The Cycle’s purpose?

To unlock the power of women and girls to build gender equality, because they believe gender equality is the key to a thriving world.

How can you help?

All donations will be gratefully received. Please head to our DonorBox page to donate.
